Each year, the town of Boswell, OK has a big town reunion. My grandmother, being raised there, tries to make it back year after year for the big weekend of activities. Her sister's sons have a guest ranch on 2800 acres there...and they invite the family (whoever is present for the reunion) out for dinner on Friday evening. This year, there were about 20 of us present for the dinner. It's a lot of family I've never spent time with...which makes it kind of fun. Most of the family that shows up lives here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. On Saturday morning, the big town parade begins. The guest ranch always participates with men on horses and the horse-driven wagon with a little carriage behind. We have been privileged to ride on the wagon two years in a row now! It is a parade primarily made up of horses! There are hundreds of horses in this parade!!! It is quite an experience. The town then holds a BBQ down at the lake. We had a wonderful time visiting with Grandpa and Grandma. After leaving there Saturday afternoon, our family had planned an evening at the Arlington Ball Park to watch the Rangers play. The skies turned dark and poured showers and thunderstorms down on us...which we handled for a time, but decided to head out during the 6th inning. It was a beautiful park, and a fun experience. A fun weekend for the Hockman Family!!!
Myrna, the wife of my mom's cousin, has a beautiful organ at their ranch. She loves to play Disney tunes for the kids.
